Just another day..

We just had the Modbury Stake Ball, held at the Gumeracha Town Hall and in the midst of a swell evening... I was in a flash mob... YEAH! Here is the video (obviously not great quality and/or lighting). I am to the right of the tall guy with the white shirt, I have a white bolero on. PLEASE NOTE: I only went to 1 practice.

Also, I thought I might make special mention that I asked a fella to the ball as my date and instead of a corsage I bought him a toy car that was orange to go with my dress! Pretty awesome idea, if I say so myself.

Lump-Butt of Rivington.. THATS ME!

On Thursday last week (27-8-09) mum wanted me to carry some boxes down the stairs.. "Put some shoes on Sarah"..
I was on the last box when as I came to the top of the stairs Missy decided that she should run down the stairs under my feet. I composed myself from the almost trip.. or so I thought. As this was happening Tamera is so wisely behind me saying "You are going to trip on the Cat".. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! The sound of me bouncing down the stairs on my butt, still holding onto the box until the falling stopped and I finally decided get rid of the box.
Did you have a good laugh at the top of the stairs Tamera and Mum?? I wasn't overally concerned with the laughing I was to busy crying in pain.

I hobbled over to the couch and lay down on it, still crying, Mum and Tamera came down stairs and the blame game began. I blamed Tamera for jinxing me, Mum blamed me for not putting on Shoes, I then blamed Mum for making me help her.. In the end blame falls on Dad for wanting the work done.

The pain had not stopped and I was still crying so Tamera decided to try and make me feel better by making me laugh.. Breathing hurt, crying hurt and laughing hurt even more. My made me go to my bed where I lay, still crying. I got some ice on my butt then decided this pain is intense I need a blessing. Mum rang Damien (Dad was away). Damien can't come to me? I will go to Damien! I got in the car, awkwardly and painfully. You don't realise how bad the roads are until you have a sore back and butt.

I got to the office, had a blessing, got back in the car, went to the hospital.

I stood in the waiting room for about 20minutes when some kind nurse, sent from heaven, got me a bed. I lay on my side which was alright until it was painful from laying still so long. I got to the hospital at around 4:40pm and was given some morphine at 5:20ish after previously taking other drugs that had little to no effect on the pain. I was in the emergency waiting room untill 10ish when I finally got taken through. I finally saw a doctor at 11:30pm. She did a little bit of testing and then I had to wait to have x-rays. At 2:30am I had my x-rays. Everything seemed fine but they wanted to keep me in and for me to get a CT scan in the morning. The doctor did some more tests.. In mums words "This will help prepare you for child birth" NOT VERY COMFORTING MUM!! At 3:30am Mum went home and I tried to get to sleep.. No one told me that the nurses keep waking you up to check you blood pressure and everything!!! So after little sleep I woke up for good.
The doctor told me that I was booked into have my CT scan at 9:00am. I was told to stay as still as possible and not to get up. Very funny Doctor!!! I didn't have the CT scan untill 3:30pm! The pain killers don't help pain from not moving! Mum had come in at 9:30am and Ruth came in to visit me too. After a long day of no eating, laying very still, tests, pain killers and no sleep, I was finally told that I was allowed to get up. Hello physio! I sat up, did some walking, we were talking about treatments lalala... "Excuse me! I feel like I am going to be sick!" Suddenly the impact of laying down for 24hours, pain killers, lady pains and no sleep hit me.. I started to sweat, I felt extremly hot, I went very pale and felt spacey and like I was going to be sick. Not very nice. I thought it was because I needed some sugar in my system, so Mum got me a drink and I made my way, after the all clear, to the car. We got half way home when I threw up. Sorry to the people in the cars next to us, at least I had one of the hospitals vomit bags. I got home and went to bed. I slept til 7:30pm had some dinner and went back to bed.

My kept me company.. Thanks mummy!!

Hospitals are only worth the trip for the arm bands!
YAY DRUGS!!!

Cubicle 19.. I hope we never meet again..
I thought I would add some pictures of my swolleness..
Not really noticable on the photos but in real life the lump can be sen from space!
Almost a week after the fall and I have this HUGE painful lump!

Well that was my eventful TRIP!! I have learnt a few things from this.. One: Listen to Mum when she says put shoes on... Two: Don't go down the stairs unless the cat is already at the bottom.. Three: Doctors on night shift say funny things "Are you allergic to pain?".. Four: Always keep conversations in the hospital room to yourself by speaking quietly "All this crap just kept coming out, I have never seen so much crap before" - Thanks Mr.

Here is why I am not that mad at my cat..

Settling In....

So I have been home just under a month now. I have been working on special needs since I got back. It isn't many hours but its been fine for just getting back into the swing of being in Adelaide. On Wednesdays I have been going to institute and my friend Catherine and I have dubbed it "Fasta Pasta Wednesday". I haven't been home much at all since I got back. I've been hanging out with friends most weekends and am having a ball!! I am really happy to be home. Not that I didn't like Karratha, I always seem to be talking about it. Of course I miss Michael heaps!!!

I got all my things yesterday. I had previously decided to get a desk and shelves, so I spent today putting my room together...

Thats all I can really think of to type at the moment...

So Happy Together....

On Wednesday I captured all the nieces and nephews that live in Adelaide (minus Xavier) around for some fun. The first to be captured was Jeremiah and our adventure began with a trip to the shops to get supplies! We got a range of lollies and some icecream and then headed home to set up. We set the table up for drawing and we got everything ready for the baking!! While we were waiting the arrival of the other children we danced around the room like crazy people!

When the kiddies had all arrived we set out our plan and then began project awesome. Some children drew pictures and we all helped with the muffins. Rory was super at helping make the muffins and cakes. He also enjoyed the spoils of licking several bowls. While the cakes were baking we ate icecream with lollies =).

I love all my nieces and nephews, wherever they may be. My favourite word is BLISS! And the theological meaning of 'bliss' is "The Joy of Heaven".

When I am with you my awesome nieces and nephews BLISS is what I feel.

Life As I Know It.

I have been living in Karratha for almost three weeks and have now got a job and an awesome life. Not that life before Karratha wasn't great but Karratha brings so many new experiences and I am loving all of them.

When I first arrived in Karratha (after a visit in Perth) I had pretty relaxing days of playing with Michael, watching Seventh Heaven and just chilling out. But I knew that the relaxing life while enjoyable was not the reason I was here. So I started work on the 25th of February. The centre I am working at is quite large and is nice inside and out. It has a built in playground in all three areas. Its a run a little bit different to what I am used to but I am adjusting. The kids are also different, while they are good kids they aren't the same as children back home.

The highlights of these past three weeks have been...

One night we went for a drive to Bryan's work, where he pointed out the different areas and explained what each section did. Then we went to Dampier and had a BBQ on the beach and stayed until the sun went down.

Amy and I attended a Relief Society pool party. It was awesome!! I really enjoyed it. We had a bomb contest...well Amy, Tissa and I had one. =)
My big splash!!!
Awesome cat (Purr) asleep on the fridge!

The best highlight was going out on the boat with Bryan, Amy Michael and David. It was one of the best days in my life!!! We set off from the boat ramps at Dampier and headed out to some shallow water in the middle of the Ocean.. OK so we could see land, but it was a fair distance away! We were stopped for a short time when I started to feel pretty sick. The feeling went away when I got in the water for a swim.

Swimming in the middle of the Ocean!

The sickness returned when I got in the boat but was forgotten as we sped off and I had a chance to drive >=)

It was sunny and windy (hence the closed eyes)

I was driving when David put in a new route to home. I was speeding along when suddenly the water got pretty shallow. Next thing you know Bryan and I are on the front of the boat watching for rocks. It was awesome!!!! We saw so many sea creatures!!! Turtles, Manta rays, and fish were all swimming right near the boat. My favourite were the turtles, they were so beautiful the way they flew through the water.

The shallow water. =)

When we reached the other side of the shallow water we found a nice calm area, where we decided to fish for a while. I caught quite a few fish in this spot. Most of the fish I caught were used for bait. We saw some dolphins while anchored here.

The first of my many catches of the day!

Spanish Flag

After fishing in the same area for a good while we headed off. After a while of driving we saw some birds diving. So we drove over where we found a million little fish. Underneath we could see some bigger fish and then BAM! Sharks!!!! David asked if we would like to have a go at catching a shark and I jumped at the chance! I had my bait in the water where we could still see it. After a short while in the water we could see a shark circling the bait and then it took it. The pull on the rod was pretty strong. Unfortunately the shark went under the boat and the line broke. It was enough to get me hooked on the idea of catching a shark! But we didn't catch any. Even with my trustie side kick "Shark Bait" we had no success. So after some traumatic experiences for shark bait we headed home.

I think he saw a shark O_O

The ride was going to be pretty rough so I wanted to take the oppurtunity to ride on front until it was to bumpy. Turned out that it was ok and I rode all the way home on the fromt of the boat getting hammerd by the bumps. My bottom has the bruises to show.

We went back to David's house to clean the boat and then went home for dinner and an early night.

Mikey and Me on the boat

Me with the tanker.

Bryan with MikeyAmy Driving the boatMikey holding his whistle.

So that is pretty much it for me.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO

Just a little update.

I live in Karratha as of three days ago. Pretty exciting stuff if you ask me. While I miss all my family back home, I am enjoying my time here with Michael, Amy and Bryan. At the moment I am enjoying the relaxing life until I get a job which I am hoping will be soon. I have never appreciated inside more in my life! While it has been raining and looks wonderful outside, it is incredibly deceptive and makes a mockery of my thoughts on temperature. I sleep really well here and find that the time difference isn't getting to me at all.

I must say that I am really impressed with Michael and his brain power. He picks up most things and remembers a lot. I am really enjoying playing and dancing with him. I am hoping I don't become to boring for him and that I won't lose my novelty factor of being someone new for a while.

Well that is all for now I will provide more detailed reports soon.

HEAT WAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who are either living elsewhere or under a rock, Adelaide is going through a heat wave... And strangly I am not overly effected.

I can not think of what to write here O_O

As you all know I went to Mount Gambier for the long weekend which was AWESOME! I love it there so many pretty things. I even crossed the border into Victoria for a day.

Nothing else exciting has happend that I can recall, which is sad because I am sure I have done something..

If I think of somethiing I will let you know.
